Kanataka to merge tech events, to host one mega tech summit in November
“Be it IT, BT, Nano, Animation, Gaming. There are so many technologies that have evolved. So we thought it is better to have one anchor event for the entire state and make it a global event.”

IT, BT & Science & Technology Minister Priyank Kharge told ET that a few captains of industry such as Kris Gopalakrishnan, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Ravi Gururaj, Naganand besides Nasscom itself suggested to him that the State hold one mega event instead of a few small events so that the mother of all events portrays technology across the spectrum. “Be it IT, BT, Nano, Animation, Gaming. There are so many technologies that have evolved. So we thought it is better to have one anchor event for the entire state and make it a global event,” Kharge said.
“It will enhance Bengaluru's brand as an innovation & knowledge hub for emerging technologies,” the Minister said. Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw hailed the government decision in a tweet.
Inside the mega event, there will be segments devoted to specific technology sectors, he said. “This single mega will showcase Karnataka's ideation, innovation & invention prowess across all technologies to an international audience,” he said in a tweet.
The government, he said, will be merging the IT and BT summits, BengaluruITE.biz and Bengaluru India Bio.
