IT services firm Globant sets up India operations
PUNE: Argentina headquartered IT services firm Globant Technologies has set up its first development center in India in Pune. Guibert Englebienne, co-founder, Globant, told ET that their acquisition of Pune based Clarice Technologies last year was the first step towards establishing a presence in India and that they would now build on that to expand their presence.

“We currently have 500 people here and will be expanding to 1200. The India center will focus on serving our global business in areas like mobile, big data, internet of things etc,” he said.

The company has already invested $20 mn in India, and plans to invest another $5mn towards infrastructure and development. Globant focuses on creating solutions around emerging technologies for brands that bring together engineering, design and innovation.

The company has 35 development centers across 11countries, and 90% of the work it does is for customers in the US and UK. It does work for companies like Google, Linkedin, JWT, EA, and Coca Cola, among others.
