Infy renames Progeon as 'Infosys BPO'
IT major Infosys Technologies Ltd today said its business process outsourcing subsidiary, Progeon Ltd, would be renamed Infosys BPO Ltd.

MUMBAI: IT major Infosys Technologies Ltd today said its business process outsourcing subsidiary, Progeon Ltd, would be renamed Infosys BPO Ltd.
"The new name accurately reflects our heritage and line of business. Our customers, employees, partners, and other stakeholders have always known us to be an integral part of the Infosys group and the new name simply reinforces that message," Infosys BPO Ltd CEO and Managing Director Amitabh Chaudhry said.
Infosys BPO, is a subsidiary of the company and over the next few weeks the Progeon logo, website, email addresses and marketing collateral templates would be replaced by the Infosys logo, it said.
"The Infosys brand represents a promise to our clients that we enable them to compete in a flat world, Infosys BPO strengthens that promise by enabling our clients to work with one integrated brand for consulting, technology, and process outsourcing," Infosys Ltd CEO and Managing Director Nandan N Nilekani said.
Earlier in April, Infosys had purchased Citicorp International Finance Corporation's 23 per cent stake in Progeon for around Rs 518 crore.
Infosys's shares were trading at Rs 1,815, down 1.01 per cent at the BSE.
