MUMBAI: Infosys, India's second-largest IT services company, has reached a settlement that will end an investigation into its use of US visas, Bloomberg reported late Monday night, citing people familiar with the matter.

The settlement with the US Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Texas could be announced as early as Wednesday, the news agency reported.

Infosys declined to comment but referred to a statement issued during the company's second-quarter financial earnings on October, 11.

"Infosys is engaged in discussions with the U.S. Attorney's office and other government departments regarding a civil resolution of the government's investigation into the Company's compliance with Form I-9 requirements and past use of B-1 visas," the statement said.

Infosys had disclosed that it had set aside $35 million for legal costs. The Bangalore-based firm has also resolved whistle-blower cases over its use of the visas.
