NEW DELHI: Country's second largest software services firm Infosys today said its outsourcing deal with Dutch company Royal Philips Electronics has been extended for five years.

"Royal Philips of the Netherlands has extended its existing seven year outsourcing agreement with Infosys for an additional five years," Infosys said in a statement.

In 2007, the Banaglore-headquartered firm had won a USD 250-million contract from Royal Philips Electronics of the Netherlands. It had also acquired three BPO centres from the Dutch company for $28 million.

As part of the new agreement, Infosys BPO will provide Finance & Accounting and transactional procurement services to Royal Philips till June 2019.

The acquisition helped Infosys expand its global network, particularly strengthening its European operations as 1,400 skilled BPO staff had joined the NASDAQ-listed IT major.
