Infosys EVP Sanjay Purohit becomes seventh executive to quit since Vishal Sikka joined
MUMBAI: Infosys' executive vice presidents and former head of consulting Sanjay Purohit has resigned, the company confirmed, marking the seventh top executive to quit since CEO Vishal Sikka joined the Bengaluru-headquartered IT major.

Purohit was formerly head of the company's Edgeverve unit – which includes product and platforms and solutions – but was shifted to the US last year to head the company's consulting division.

Infosys moved him out of the consulting business in July after a disappointing quarter in the unit, which CEO Sikka attributed to management mistakes.

Purohit is the latest high-ranking Infosys executive to leave after Manish Tandon, who was EVP and head of healthcare and lifesciences, quit two months ago.

Times of India first broke the news of Purohit's resignation.

Analysts have been concerned about the steady state of resignations from the top at Infosys. Though in its analyst day last month, Sikka brushed off those worries.
