Infosys adds 49 clients in Q2, signs new deal with Daimler
NEW DELHI: Infosys, the country’s second-largest software exporter, said it added 49 customers during the second quarter and also signed a deal with German automaker Daimler AG, which is not only an old Infosys customer but also has a long standing association with CEO Vishal Sikka.

As part of the agreement, Infosys said it will manage infrastructure services and data centres for the maker of Mercedez-Benz.

Daimler was an early adopter of the SAP-HANA software product, whose creation is widely credited to Sikka while he was the chief technology officer at SAP. With his deep understanding of technology and long-standing association with Daimler, it would be interesting to see how Infosys’ association with Daimler changes under Sikka.

Infosys also said it signed contracts with a major US-based fashion retailer, one of UK’s leading supermarket chains, a telecom service provider and a postal solution provider in the US.
