Bengaluru: Mid-size IT services firm CSS Corp has rolled out pay increases in the high single digits to its 7,000 employees, at a time when larger tech services and business process management companies are delaying increments and promotions.

The company is also planning to hire 1,000 people by June end, across markets.

Software services exporters including Infosys, Wipro, TCS and WNS have delayed pay increases and put promotions on hold, due to the uncertainty over business growth across their key markets in the wake of the Covid-19 virus outbreak. CSS Corp has also paid 100% of variable salary to the bulk of its employees.

“We are in challenging times and the organization has responded with great resilience in moving to a 100% WFH (work from home) model early in the cycle. So, it was important for us to ensure they are certain about their future,” said Nishikant Nigam, chief delivery officer and Head of HR, CSS Corp. The company will carry out virtual onboarding for fresh hires, both for India as well as other countries.
