IL&FS invests Rs 25 cr in BPO firm

IL&FS Investment Managers Ltd (IIML) has invested Rs 25 crore in BPO firm EBS Worldwide Services.

MUMBAI: Private equity fund management company IL&FS Investment Managers Ltd (IIML) has invested Rs 25 crore in BPO firm EBS Worldwide Services, aiming to cut its marketing costs.

EBS, a Rs 50 crore firm has around 200 employees with its offices in India and the US. With this investment into marketing services BPO, IIML aims to put a cap on its marketing expenditure, improve quality and free company resources from these activities, the firm said here today.

EBS offers niche, technology-based customer relationship management (CRM) and direct marketing back-office solutions.

"The non-voice outsourcing solutions space in India is poised for a exponential growth. Industries have started realizing the criticality of rapid, cost-effective execution of their CRM strategy," IIML Vice Chairman and managing director Shahzaad Dalal said.

IIML, managing over USD 900 million, has an array of fund focused at investments across infrastructure, life sciences, manufacturing, information technology, and real estate.

IL&FS is the principal shareholder in IIML, while Bank of India has also participated in its equity.
