IGATE to provide Big data, analytics to Rio Tinto

NEW DELHI: Outsourcing solutions firm IGATE today said it will work with Rio Tinto to provide the mining giant with advanced statistics, predictive data modelling and machine learning algorithms.

New Jersey-headquartered IGATE has partnered with Rio Tinto to develop the UK-based mining group's Analytics Excellence Centre in Pune.

"In the first partnership of its kind in mining industry, IGATE will provide Rio Tinto with analytical capabilities to identify opportunities for enhancing efficiency and productivity across Rio Tinto managed operations," IGATE said in a statement.

The Rio Tinto Analytics Excellence Centre located within Rio Tinto Innovation Centre in Pune will build on the work of Rio Tinto's centre in Brisbane, it said.
