IBM bags Rs 70 crore project from BSNL

Global IT major IBM has bagged a Rs 70-crore deal with public sector BSNL to provide IT infrastructure management capability for the deployment of 2.8 million broadband in approximately 900 cities throughout India.


NEW DELHI: Global IT major IBM has bagged a Rs 70-crore deal with public sector BSNL to provide IT infrastructure management capability for the deployment of 2.8 million broadband in approximately 900 cities throughout India.

The PSU will use the network to offer new broadbandbased , multi-play services such as IPTV, video on demand (VoD), video multicast, VPN services, and high-speed internet services across the country.

In addition, the solutions being supplied by IBM and USbased networks major UTStarcom will provide the operator with network flexibility, scalability for innovation and a rapid return on investment, the company said in a statement.
