Hyderabad to host World Congress on Information Technology in 2018

Nasscom President R Chandrasekhar said the event will bring together business delegations from amongst the 80 countries.

HYDERABAD: World Congress on Information Technology, a biennial event, will be held in Hyderabad in 2018, the domestic industry body Nasscom said today.

Nasscom President R Chandrasekhar said the event will bring together business delegations from amongst the 80 countries.

The Congress will also provide the state an ideal audience including global decision makers who would be participating at the event and making relevant trade and investment decisions, he said.

"We expect over 2,500 participants from different IT companies across the globe. The theme will be 'the Future Enterprise'. We have requested the Government of India to support the event. Telangana government will be the host state," the Nasscom chief said.

Telangana IT minister K Rama Rao said a team of senior officials of the state government and other stakeholders will visit the WCIT-2016 in Brazil next year to study the event.

He also said the state's IT policy may be put up in the next cabinet meeting for approval.
