Honeywell Automation appoints former Wipro CFO Suresh Senapaty as chairman

BENGALURU: Former Wipro finance chief Suresh Senapaty, who retired from the outsourcing firm after spending over three decades at the company, has been named chairman of Honeywell Automation’s India operations.

Senapaty’s appointment as chairman has been in effect from March 8, Honeywell Automation India Ltd ( HAIL) said.

"Suresh Senapaty will be responsible for contributing to HAIL's overall strategy and to provide counsel on corporate governance, business, and financial matters," HAIL said in a statement.

HAIL said the Senapaty’s appointment as an independent director to the company’s board was subject to shareholder approval and her term of office would be decided by shareholders at the company’s upcoming annual shareholder meeting.

Senapaty succeeds Surendra L Rao, who served as a member of the board of directors of HAIL since January 2002 and as Chairman of the board of directors from August 2014 to February 2016.
