Hinduja Global opens new delivery centre in Canada

NEW DELHI: BPO services provider Hinduja Global Solutions (HGS) today said it has opened a new delivery centre in Canada that is expected to generate 500 jobs.

"The centre has a capacity of 350 seats and will provide inbound customer care services. This is the fourth new centre of HGS in Canada in less than four years, clearly indicating business opportunities in the region," HGS said in a filing to the BSE.

The new centre is expected to generate 500 jobs in the city of Barrie, Ontario, in its full capacity, it added.

HGS entered Canada when it acquired OLS in 2011. HGS Canada offers technical support, inbound sales, customer care and customer loyalty services in English and French languages.

"With increasing demand from onshore and near-shore, we expect HGS Canada to keep expanding to keep the growth momentum going," HGS Global CEO Partha DeSarkar said.

HGS, part of the multi-billion dollar Hinduja Group, is a player in customer relationship and business process management, with footprint across North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa.

Shares of the company today declined 0.41 per cent to settle at Rs 301 apiece on the BSE.
