MUMBAI: Private sector general insurer HDFC Ergo today signed a multi-year application outsourcing contract with Accenture, a global management consulting and technology services company.

Under the contract, Accenture will maintain and upgrade HDFC Ergo's existing digital channels, including web portals and mobile applications, besides developing analytical models to help the insurer better manage its sales and boost business," a release said here.

"In line with our objective of growing our direct retail business, we want to make sure we offer our customers the best digital experience, including a seamless interaction across all channels," said Mehmood Mansoori, HDFC Ergo head of IT, customer experience management, strategy and marketing.

"With Accenture supporting our applications, we can strengthen efficiencies, manage costs and most importantly, be better able to serve our customers, he added.

Commenting on the tie-up, Accenture Managing Director Piyush Singh said, "as customers in India increasingly expect to be able to interact with insurers across digital channels, companies are faced with the challenge of providing multiple options to suit customer needs."
