HCL Technologies says to aggressively focus on Brazil market

Global IT services provider, HCL Technologies (HCL), said on Wednesday that it will aggressively focus on the Brazil market.

MUMBAI: With an aim to expand its infrastructure services, global IT services provider, HCL Technologies (HCL), today said that it will aggressively focus on the Brazil market.

HCL made the announcement at the Gartner Outsourcing Summit 2010 at Sao Paulo, Brazil.

"As the global economy recovers, organisations in Brazil face new growth opportunities and many will need to make strategic investments in their IT to help them bring new products and services to the market," HCL's Vice-President (Emerging Geographies), Sandeep Kalra, said in a statement here.

The Indian software firm also said that it plans to expand its infrastructure footprint in the region by setting up a multi-lingual service desk facility to support its global and local customers in Rio Grande do Sul.

The facility would also provide global support for telecom and mainframe costumers worldwide.

Brazil, the largest domestic market in Latin America, accounts for over 50 per cent of the IT spend in the region and HCL's growing presence is mainly influenced by rapid economic growth, expansion of multinational companies in the market and the increasing globalisation of Brazilian corporations.
