HCL eyes for buyout in transaction processing

HCL Technologies BPO Services is aiming at acquiring companies engaged in transaction processing overseas, a company official said on Friday.


KOLKATA: HCL Technologies BPO Services is aiming at acquiring companies engaged in transaction processing overseas, a company official said on Friday.

President and CEO of HCL Technologies Ranjit Narasimhan told reporters here on Friday that the company was looking at buy-outs in English-speaking countries.

At present, 70 per cent of the company's outsourcing activity was voice-based, while the remaining 30 per cent was transaction processing.

"We want to alter the proportion to 50:50," he said.

HCL Tech is also keen to enter Tier 2 cities. HCL Tech has operations in Noida, Chennai, Bangalore, Kuala Lumpur and Northern Ireland. The company's manpower strength stands at 10,500.

Speaking about revenue, he said that in the current year, it would be around $160 million to $170 million.
