GRO to hire 1,000 hands for Mumbai facility
GRO, employing over 1000 people in Chennai, provides research, analysis and information services to real estate and financial services industries in the US. Being a non-voice based BPO, it operates only during the day time. Zenta, employing over 3000 people in Mumbai, offers credit card servicing, accounts receivable management and insurance claims management services to financial services companies. Zenta, which came into H-Cube fold in May 2005, is a voice-based BPO, and operates mostly during night time.
Now, GRO and Zenta have entered into an agreement by which GRO would use Zenta’s infrastructure in Mumbai, and vice versa. The tie-up would also help the two companies offer end-to-end solutions (voice and non-voice based solutions) to their clients.
GRO plans to hire 1000 people in Mumbai in the next 18 months, and its CEO VK Raman relocated there to facilitate the company’s expansion in the financial capital. Meanwhile, GRO’s Chennai centre has started offering voice-based services to Zenta’s clients as a pilot with 25 people. Mr Raman said, “We plan to grow both at Mumbai and Chennai in a synergistic way, by leveraging each others facilities , infrastructure and strengths.”
The agreement helps in better utilisation of the infrastructure — and saves initial infrastructure costs for both the companies. It would also help GRO and Zenta offer a broader range of services to their respective clients, Mr Raman said.
Founded in 2000, GRO has conducted analysis on more than 25,000 properties in over $350 billion of commercial real estate transactions. Every month it services several hundred thousand residential mortgages and offers support on over 10,000 commercial loans.
