KOLKATA: The default crisis of Greece will have marginal impact on software exports, an export promotion council official said here today.

"Though, export to Eurozone market is 29 per cent of total export, but excluding UK the exports will be hardly 11 per cent. So, the Greece crisis will have nil or marginal impact," Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) Chairman Saumen Chakraborty said.

"However, we want that the crisis should get resolved soon," he said.

ESC Committee Member S Radhakrishnan said India's software export will be $109 billion for 2015-16 as against $97 billion in the last fiscal.

Chakraborty said the Digital India drive, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday, and the smart city projects will have profound impact on the Information and Communications Technology sector including in exports of hardware and solutions.

"Once these projects roll out in India, we will be geared to export the solutions to emerging markets of the world," he said.
