German firm acquires 26 pc in Aakit Technologies

Germany-based Aequitas Group has picked up 26 per cent stake in IT consulting and services company Aakit Technologies for an undisclosed sum.

MUMBAI: Germany-based Aequitas Group has picked up 26 per cent stake in IT consulting and services company Aakit Technologies for an undisclosed sum.

"It (stake sale) deepens our access to customers in the European market and at the same time gives Aequitas access to customers in India," Aakit Managing Director Tayeb Barodawala said in a release here on Friday.

"The fresh investment in Aakit will be used to expand our offshore delivery infrastructure and strengthen sales presence," he said.

Both the companies have been working as partners for the last two years offering SAP services to clients in India and Europe.

"After successfully working together with Aakit for many years we are very pleased that Aakit is now a part of the Aequitas Group," Aequitas Director Christian Spraetsz said.

"This will strengthen our position to provide high quality onsite/offshore services to our customers in Europe. On the other hand, we will be able to extend our offerings in the Middle East with joint teams and also address the subsidiaries of our customers in Asia, especially India," he said.
