BPO major Genpact said it will open a centre, employing around 600 persons initially, here by the first quarter of next year.

JAIPUR: BPO major Genpact said it will open a centre, employing around 600 persons initially, here by the first quarter of next year.

"Our next and third unit would be operational early next year. Initially, we plan to hire around 500-600 people for the operations," Genpact Senior Vice President Diwakar Singhal told PTI on Thursday.

Jaipur is emerging as a hub of management, UG and PG students, so availablity of human resource is not a big issue here, he said.

"We want to make the state pool of professionals as there is enormous potential in the state hence we are conducting call centre training for college students in a number of educational institutions which is opening the doors for emering career opportunities in the BPO industry."

However, Singhal said, additional two to six months communication skill's training is imparted to selected candidates here which usually not required in other cities of the country where the company is functioning.

He said that the trend of switching call centre job is not so high now and candidates are pursing the job with seriousness as chances of growth are high, so the company would remain committed for continuous investment in training and development in the cities of Rajasthan.
