Genpact to hire 3,600 in 2 months
Genpact is planning to take its overall headcount to 45,000 by 2008, besides targeting revenues of $1bn.
“With the success of our Jaipur operations, we are actively looking at setting up centres in tier II cities. Though we have not finalised any locations, talent availability and the presence of good educational institutes will be the main criteria for our expansion to small cities,” said Sanjay Goel, senior vice-president & business leader of Genpact.
Talking to ET, he said, the company had about 19,000 employees in Gurgaon, Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Bangalore and Kolkata. “On an average, we recruit about 1,000 people a month. By 2006 end, we are looking at adding 12,000 people across our centers globally,” he said.
As the company is already close to meeting its target, its centers in India will see an addition of about 3,600 people in the next two months. The company has 24 centres in India, China, Hungary, Romania, Poland, Mexico, the Philippines and the US.
“We employ about 26,000 people globally and next year we will add 4,000 people. India being the largest center, it would see a considerable increase in headcount,” Mr Goel said. Genpact currently drives about 70% of its revenues from non-voice operations. “Our aim is to increase the turnover from $600 million to $1 billion by 2008,” he added.
