Genpact looking at $50-400 mn acquisition

Business process outsourcing company Genpact is looking at acquisition of companies in the US and India in the range of $50 million to $400 million.

NEW DELHI: Business process outsourcing company Genpact is looking at acquisition of companies in the US and India in the range of $50 million to $400 million, CEO Pramod Bhasin said on Tuesday.
The NYSE-listed company is also looking at expanding its off-shore capacity in Guatemala to serve the US market, he said.
"We are looking at all sorts of companies -- BPO, technology, captive BPO and possibly IT companies also -- the range could be $50 million to $400 million. We are interested as a lot of companies are available for sale," Bhasin said here.
The BPO, which has raised its revenue guidance for this calendar year, is looking at setting up a full-fledged center at Guatemala in Latin America, which would be both a contact centre and a financial transaction processing services centre.
Genpact is also looking at a 22 to 23 per cent increase in its head count for this calendar year.
The Indian BPO industry had clocked a revenue of $11 billion in the last fiscal.
