Genpact acquires Nissan's HR operations

Genpact bagged a seven-year HR outsourcing contract from Nissan by acquiring its shared services centre for human resources in Yokohama.

NEW DELHI: India's largest BPO firm, Genpact, on Monday bagged a seven-year HR outsourcing contract from its existing client Nissan by acquiring its shared services center for human resources in Yokohama, Japan.

The acquisition will boost Genpact's presence in Japan and the center ( Nissan Human Information Service) will be renamed as Genpact Japan Service. The amount paid for acquisition was not disclosed by Genpact. Genpact will provide payroll, benefits, staffing, training and other key HR services to Nissan's 54,000 employees.

The centre will also help Genpact cater to the rising Japanese outsourcing market. Genpact already manages procurement for Nissan from its offices in Gurgaon and Dalian. This is Genpact's second large deal this year, after the buyout of Noida-based Headstrong for $550 million.
