Former TCS CMO Rajashree R joins Tech Mahindra

Tech Mahindra on Monday announced the appointment of former Tata Consultancy Services chief marketing officer Rajashree R as its chief growth officer for strategic verticals in the Americas.

Rajashree comes with extensive experience in retail and marketing at TCS where she worked for almost 20 years. Her resignation from TCS was announced in July, soon after former chief executive Rajesh Gopinathan’s abrupt exit in March 2023.

Rajashree joins an entirely new leadership at Tech Mahindra, led by CEO Mohit Joshi who moved to the company from Infosys. Joshi took over the reins following CP Gurnani’s retirement in December.


Joshi announced an internal restructuring during the company’s second-quarter earnings conference, highlighting a vertical-wise focus for delivery instead of Tech Mahindra’s previous geography-focused structure. The new CEO has created six focused business units: Americas Communication, Americas Technology Media, Americas Diversified, EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), APJ (Asia Pacific and Japan) and India. The reshuffle was effective January 1.

Other major appointments at Tech Mahindra in recent months include Richard Lobo, a former Infosys chief human resource officer who joined the company in January as its chief people officer. Chief operating officer Atul Soneja joined the company from CitiusTech in August 2023.

Harshvendra Soin, global chief people officer & head - marketing, has been elevated to president APJ, telecom and enterprise business and he moved to Australia. Dhanashree Bhat who was chief delivery officer of the communications, media and telecom group, left the company to join as chief operating officer at Persistent Systems. Manish Vyas, head of the communications vertical, has also left.
