Former law enforcement officials launch new background screening firm

NEW DELHI: Experienced retired officers from various Indian law enforcement agencies have come together to launch a new background company called Fourth Force. The company stated that it will help investigate and verify the backgrounds of people across key businesses and industries and said it can help pre-empt and reduce fraud and criminal intent at the workplace.

The pan-India organisation includes retired personnel from departments like CBI, RAW, RPF, and state police.

Vimala Mehra, special commissioner of New Delhi Police said: "With the advent of effective background verification companies, the scope for crimes and acts of fraud are drastically reduced. A certification will ensure there is complete transparency in all industries."

Saleem Ali, former special director of CBI and chairman and managing director, Fourth Force said: "The concept behind Fourth Force is to ensure that there is a thorough background check of the recruits especially in crucial industries like BFSI, Telecom, ITES, retail, commercial and domestic. An effective task force of experienced ex-police officers who have served a minimum of 35 to 40 years is what makes Fourth Force effective in thorough background verification."

The vision of the company is to carry out due diligence on all aspects of human resource criminal risk mitigation.
