Firstsource, Idea in five-year outsourcing partnership

MUMBAI: Global BPO services provider Firstsource Solutions and private telecom operator Idea Cellular have signed a five-year, Rs 145-crore outsourcing agreement.

Under the pact, Firstsource will provide a suite of customer management interaction services, including customer service, billing, new product information and plan details related interaction services, to Idea, a press release said here on Tuesday.

These services would be provided from Firstsource's centre in Coimbatore and cater to Idea's Kerala and Tamil Nadu customers in English, Malayalam and Tamil, the release said.

Idea Cellular, an Aditya Birla Group company, has over 45-million subscribers across 17 service areas in India.

"Firstsource brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in running large customer support operations for global telecom service providers and has the ability to help us manage our rapid growth in the service areas of Kerala and Tamil Nadu," Idea Cellular's Chief Service Delivery Officer Navanit Narayan said.
