Cognizant signs deal with Saudi Arabian power utility
NEW DELHI: IT services firm Cognizant today said it has been selected by Saudi Electricity Company ( SEC) to develop the billing and revenue management solution for the utility firm.

SEC, which is Middle East's largest utility company, aims to ramp-up its delivery service to cater to a growing customer base by leveraging best practises from global electricity markets, Cognizant said in a release.

As part of the engagement, Cognizant will develop a comprehensive billing and revenue management solution based on SAP Utilities enterprise software to meet the functional, technical and operational requirements of SEC, it added.

While enhancing agility, cost-effectiveness and efficiency of SEC's customer service operations, the solution will provide a robust, scalable and flexible technology foundation to improve speed-to-market, it said.

Cognizant will also leverage its consulting and programme management capabilities to enable SEC to address transitional, communications, governance and behavioural aspects of change management.

SEC, a consolidation of all Saudi electricity companies in the central, eastern, western and southern regions, provides generation, transmission and distribution for power customers in Saudi Arabia.
