Cognizant appoints Ramkumar Ramamoorthy as India Executive Director

BENGALURU: Cognizant appointed Ramkumar Ramamoorthy as executive director of its India operations, a role that has been newly created, a source with direct knowledge of the matter told ET.

Ramamoorthy, who was previously senior vice president - corporate marketing, corporate affairs and communications, has been with the company for 19 years. The source added that Ramamoorthy would lead the operations in India, as the company attempts to streamline its coststructure to boost margins.

A Cognizant spokesperson confirmed Ramamoorthy’s elevation to executive director.

“Ramkumar, in this new role, will provide strategic direction and counsel to our business-enabling functions in India, and further strengthen our brand and reputation among all stakeholders,” the spokesperson replied to ET’s emailed query.
