Clean Harbors relocates global centre to Hyderabad

US environmental services company Clean Harbors has relocated its global capability centre to a facility in Hyderabad from small units, and plans to double the headcount at the centre to more than 600, chairman Alan McKim said.

Addressing media persons in Hyderabad on Monday, he said the New York Stock Exchange-listed firm was also looking at commercial operations in India and would first market its products like re-refined oils. McKim, who is also the chief executive, said the company was trying to understand regulatory constraints in India before taking up commercial operations.

The global capability centre at the new location in Hyderabad, Clean Harbors’ sole such centre globally, houses round-the-clock operations across its functions including information technology, finance, human resources and legal. The company that has so far made 65 acquisitions and maintains more than 400 service locations.
