CCI approves Capgemini’s acquisition of Altran

Competition Commission of India (CCI), the anti-trust regulator, has approved the acquisition of sole control over Altran Technologies by French tech services major Capgemini.

CCI has tweeted about its approval of the take-over.

Capgemini had announced its plan to acquire engineering consulting firm Altran for 3.6 billion euro ($4.1 billion). Altran, the Paris-headquartered company, has a strong employee base acqui-hired when it bought another engineering services focused company Aricent in 2017.


This acquisition is primarily aimed to turn technology services major Capgemini into a key player with full stack of capabilities across research and development (R&D) strategy, product engineering, manufacturing services, digital design, process consulting and software development and integration, the company had said.

Combined revenue of Capgemini and Altran is expected to become 17 billion euro.
