Capgemini today said its Indian arm has bagged a contract from JSW group for designing and implementing a Shared Services Center (SSC).

NEW DELHI: French IT services firm Capgemini today said its Indian arm has bagged a contract from JSW group for designing and implementing a Shared Services Center ( SSC).

The new integrated platform will bring together critical functions across business units such as finance and accounts, procurement, supply chain management and human resources, Capgemini India said in a statement.

No financial details were disclosed. The work will involve consolidation of common back office functions for group companies, standardisation of processes and functions across locations, as well as better governance and control, it added.

"We expect Capgemini to support JSW Group in reducing costs and gaining flexibility by the implementation of a robust and scalable shared service delivery platform for JSW Steel, JSW Cement, JSW Energy and JSW Infrastructure business," JSW Group Joint Managing Director and Group CFO Seshagiri Rao said.

Capgemini India has over 44,000 people working across Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Kolkata and Chennai, Trichy and Salem.

It works across sectors like government and public sector, energy and utilities, manufacturing, telecom and financial services.
