BPOs in Maharashtra would be held responsible for security of their women employees, Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil said.

MUMBAI: BPOs in Maharashtra would be held responsible for security of their women employees, Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil said here on Monday.

"BPOs should provide adequate security for women employees," Patil, who also holds the Home portfolio, told reporters, when asked about alleged gang-rape of a woman working with IBM BPO in Pune.

The victim has suffered a mental shock and is currently undergoing treatment at a Pune hospital. According to police, she is not in a position to narrate the incident.
