Ashok Vemuri’s entry sparks top-level exodus at iGate

BANGALORE: iGate is witnessing an exodus of top-level executives following the appointment of Ashok Vemuri as its CEO in September. The California-based, Nasdaq-listed outsourcing company, which does most of its delivery out of India, has seen at least six senior executives quit in the past few weeks, multiple sources close to the company told TOI. The company did not respond to queries on this matter.

Sanjiv Kapur, senior VP in charge of BPO, has quit. He became part of iGate following its acquisition of Patni in 2011. He had joined Patni ten years prior to that.

Jason Trussell, senior VP and regional manager for iGate Canada, has resigned. Trussell was looking after the company's biggest customer Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) that accounts for 10% of the outsourcing firm's overall revenues. He has been with iGate since 1994 and played a key role in iGate's growth in Canada.

David Kruzner, EVP and co-head of consulting & solutions, has quit after three years with the company. Fred Cohen, group VP and head of banking and financial services, joined analytics services company Mu Sigma this month as global head of banking and financial services. He had joined iGate in 2008. Timothy Coffin, who leads the public sector division, has also quit.

TOI had reported earlier this week that iGate's chief delivery officer Sean Narayanan had resigned following differences with Vemuri. Narayanan quit despite having received a hefty retention bonus in June.

One source who has been close to iGate said most of those quitting were people who were close to Phaneesh Murthy, Vemuri's predecessor who was sacked in May for not disclosing his relationship with a subordinate.
