Ahmedabad-based Dev Informatics acquires Canadian company DRS Technologies

Dev Information Technology Private Limited recently acquired a majority stake in Canadian IT company DRS Technologies for an undisclosed sum.

AHMEDABAD: Ahmedabad-based IT company Dev Information Technology Private Limited (Dev IT) recently acquired a majority stake in Canadian IT company DRS Technologies for an undisclosed sum.

Dev IT is a Systems Integrator and ERP solutions provider company, while DRS provides IT infrastructure services, particularly remote IT Infrastructure Management services.

The deal will enable Dev IT to acquire clients in north America directly, while earlier it got contracts as a part of outsourcing. Both the companies were in talks since June this year and the deal was finalised last week, said Dev IT founder and director Jaimin Shah. DRS has clients like Holiday Inn Toronto and travel agency Uniglobs, which can now be served through Dev IT as well.

"The deal will give us a direct presence in north America. Now any hurdles in outsourcing will not affect us in terms of client acquisition," Shah told ET. Dev IT recently acquired a client Visionasia in Australia. Vision Asia has rights to telecast Indian TV channels in Australia and New Zealand.

Dev IT will provide ERP solutions to Vision Asia.
