Aegis expands call centre operations in Costa Rica

With presence in 12 countries, 50 locations, and more than 55,000 employees, Aegis is wholly owned by the $ 17 billion Essar group.

NEW DELHI: Outsourcing firm Aegis today expanded its business in Costa Rica by opening a call centre that can accomodate 900 professionals.

"Costa Rica has played a vital part of our success. Aegis began operations in Costa Rica in 2006 and today we have nearly 900 employees," Aegis President for Global Customer Lifecycle Management Sandip Sen said in a statement.

The new facility is located in the Rohrmoser section of San Jose and it will be a blend of additional capacity and reduced costs, the statement said.

"It will provide us with 25 per cent more agent seats and a substantial savings in lease cost, in a logistically better section of San Jose," Sen said.

He also added that the company is expanding their client engagements with world's leading brands and the opening of this new center demonstrates their commitment to creating jobs in the Americas.

"Our Costa Rica location serves US-based clients in healthcare, banking, travel and hospitality, retail, and technology," he said.
