Actuate announces global alliance with L&T Infotech

BANGALORE: NASDAQ-listed Actuate Corporation on Friday announced a global alliance with Larsen & Toubro Infotech Ltd (L&T Infotech).

As part of the alliance, L&T Infotech and Actuate would collaborate to deploy BIRT and ActuateOne-based custom business intelligence and information applications for the financial services, construction, infrastructure and manufacturing industries to grow their pipeline of mutual clients, Actuate said in a statement.

Additionally, L&T Infotech would train its employees in ActuateOne and BIRT.

"Many of our clients use open source platforms and we are seeing a growing interest in BIRT and ActuateOne within our client base", V K Magapu, Director In-Charge of L&T Infotech and Whole-time Director & President (IT, Engineering Services and Corporate Initiatives), L&T, said.

"...the fact that over 40 per cent of application developers in India are already using or plan to use BIRT within the next 12 months, represents a great opportunity for L&T Infotech and Actuate," Actuate Corporation President and CEO Pete Cittadini.
