Here’s a look at the number of women employed at India’s top IT/BPO firms and women’s representation on the board of directors.

IT sector needs more women power



The information technology sector directly employs over 25 lakh and boasts of better gender diversity than most other sectors. With about 38% women staff being hired at entry level, it is true to a certain extent but gender balance, especially at senior levels still remains an aspiration for IT companies.

However, the proportion of women dwindles down to less than 10% in senior management ranks and sometimes non-existent at board level. Here’s a look at the number of women employed at India’s top IT/BPO firms and women’s representation on the board of directors.
