VSNL joins Wireless Broadband Alliance

VSNL has become the first Indian Internet Service Provider (ISP) to receive membership into the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA).

New Delhi: VSNL has become the first Indian Internet Service Provider (ISP) to receive membership into the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA). The initiative enables VSNL access to over 50,000 hotspots that this alliance operates globally.

With this, VSNL joins the rank of global majors such as British Telecom Group, China Netcom, Korea Telecom, Maxis (Malaysia), NTT Communications (Japan), StarHub (Singapore ) and T-Mobile of the US, who are already members of this alliance.

Besides, through membership of the WBA, members and partners have the opportunity to establish the future of wireless broadband on a global scale. The alliance seeks to develop the Wi-Fi business locally and internationally , promote the roaming initiative, simplify roaming practice , through standardisation and provide a community for the exchange of better business.
