NEW DELHI: Vodafone India is evaluating the launch of a narrowband Internet of Things (IoT) network to grow business, a top official said, a move that will make it the second telco after Reliance Jio Infocomm to set up such a network in the country.

Nick Gliddon, director of Vodafone Business Services, told ET that Internet of Things (IoT) is one of the fastest growing segments within its enterprise business, and India’s No. 2 telco is planning to introduce global use cases to further grow the business in India, having deployed some smart city projects in Pune and Kolkata. “We have worked with several enterprises on myriad use cases for IoT… we can now deliver endto-end solutions for the most demanding enterprise customers… we call this approach SuperIoT,” Gliddon said. “Having launched Narrowband IoT in select European markets, we are evaluating it for the Indian market as well.”
