Vocollect sets up specialised wireless biz in India
Vocollect, maker of high-end, specialised wireless voice gadgets for corporates, on Wednesday set up business in India.
"We already have our research and development centre in India. Today we have appointed our first distribution partner to start sales business in India. We expect to sell 300 devices this year and 2,000 units by the end of next year," Vocollect Vice President and Managing Director (Asia Pacific) Vancem Lau said.
The company today appointed Bartech Data Systems as its distribution partner. Lau said that the company is looking to partner with 2-3 system integrators by the end of this year and seven by the end of next year.
Vocollect is looking at business with tier 1 logistic companies in India.
"We already have multinational companies as our customers. They have presence in India. Apart from this, we are looking at business with tier 1 companies here," Lau added.
The company offers communication devices that can be integrated with existing business softwares of the company. The device accepts voice commands.
"Even a blue collar worker can be guided through our system and the worker can also feed in data irrespective of the dialect of language he speaks," Lau said.
He explained that these devices can be trained in 20 minutes by feeding certain words to feed in phonetic of the employee using it.
Once trained, the device will accept command in that particular voice only, Lau said.
