Two out of three internet users in India accesses social media websites such as Facebook or Twitter every day. Social media audience has become a hot area for organisations, brands and recruiters to reach their niche audience, recruit people, even organise mass protests. According to a study by research firm IMRB International and Internet and Mobile Association of India, over 60% of Social media access happens from small towns. Excerpts:
