Twitter India appoints Mahima Kaul as its Public Policy head

NEW DELHI: Twitter India has appointed Mahima Kaul its Public Policy head, effective last week.

Kaul joins Twitter from Observer Research Foundation, a think-tank, where she was a fellow leading the cyber and new media initiatives. She has worked in the past with Index on Censorship- a UK based magazine, The Open Communication Foundation, Digital empowerment Foundation and The Indian Express.

Her appointment was announced Monday on Twitter by Raheel Khursheed, the company's news, politics and government head. "Welcoming the awesome @misskaul to the Flock. It is a great day," Khursheed said.

Kaul has written extensively on different platforms on internet governance issues, information and communications technology, cybersecurity, digital inclusion and internet freedom.

Kaul will be based out of Delhi.
