Trai tells RCom to issue code for porting in Shillong, Kerala
NEW DELHI: The telecom regulator has ordered Reliance Communications and its unit Reliance Telecom to immediately issue and communicate unique porting codes – required to move to other carriers through mobile number portability ( MNP) - via SMS to users in Shillong and Kerala, areas where 2G services have been shut.

In separate but similar notices on Wednesday, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India ( Trai) gave time till November 6 and directed the duo to give reasons for disruption of services in these areas, besides details of porting requests the companies have received in the past two weeks and the number of customers who ported out.
