Sundar Pichai to address students at Shri Ram College of Commerce during India trip

NEW DELHI: Google top boss Sundar Pichai who is making his way to India to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also be making an appearance in Delhi University at the Shri Ram College of Commerce on December 17.

Pichai will be addressing and interacting with students at the college during the session 'Ask Sundar'. "We had invited Pichai and after his meeting with the PM, he will be coming to address our students," said a source close to the college. While it is not confirmed, Pichai is likely to launch the Google's Android One smartphone in India.

The college's notable alumni include Ernst & Young India chief Rajiv Memani, filmmaker Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra, the current Minister for Finance, Corporate Affairs, Information, and Broadcasting Arun Jaitley.

Last month, the college also set up an on campus incubator, Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship, a first of its kind in the university and a student-led centre comprising the faculty, alumni and industry experts which has about 10 students in third year college are getting incubated while another.

In September 2014, Arun Jaitley went to address students soon after he became a cabinet minister and in 2013, 1800 students came to see then Gujarat chief minister Modi speak.

In 2015, the college had one of the highest cut off percentage for subjects like Economics that went up to 98.25% and 97.37% for BCom.
