In the wake of the earthquakes in Nepal, social media sites have been pitching in to help in any way possible.

Social media unites to help quake-hit Nepal
NEW DELHI: In the wake of the earthquakes in Nepal, social media sites have been pitching in to help in any way possible. What started of as spreading information about the disaster struck area, quickly turned into a tool to help search for missing people and survivors and helping with donations. Facebook along with a special Google tool had helped users appeal to find their loved ones.

Last week, Google's 'Person Finder: 2015 Nepal Earthquake' gave users both the option of looking for someone or spread information about the safety of their loved ones.

Crowd-funding helped in collecting money through social media channels. Organisations like Facebook and Twitter helped with collecting donations from users alike. Other organisations like World Vision USA and Clinton Global Initiative too announced what they had donated.
