Siemens Information Systems (SISL), a 100% subsidiary of Siemens, has ambitious headcount expansion plans in Kolkata.

KOLKATA: Siemens Information Systems (SISL), a 100% subsidiary of Siemens, has ambitious headcount expansion plans in Kolkata. Over the next four years, SISL plans to increase staff strength at its city operation to 1,000 from the present 173.

This was indicated by SISL managing director Anil Laud. He also announced the launch of SISL’s centre of excellence (CoE) for managed services in the city. The company has just acquired 40,000 sq ft of prime office space at Millennium City in the Salt Lake electronic complex (Saltlec) to offer a slew of managed services to telecom operators in the country and overseas.

“As the IT arm of Siemens Group, SISL has major headcount expansion plans in Kolkata. Over the next two years, we propose to expand the local manpower size to 750, and thereafter to 1,000 by ’10. We intend to offer a host of managed services to our telecom operator clients here and in overseas markets from our city unit. The services could relate to customer billing, network management or even inventory control,” said Mr Laud.
