NEW DELHI: Singapore-based social networking company migme plans to foray into India by October and aims to be among the top three players in the sector in two years.

"We plan to formally launch migme in India by September-October this year. We are targeting to be among the top three social networking platform in the country in the next 12-24 months," migme chief executive Steven Goh said.

With population of 1.2 billion people, the company is very excited to be moving into India, he added.

As per social marketing agency, We Are Social, Facebook, Google Plus and Twitter top the list as the most popular social networks in the country.

Meanwhile, the company has signed seven artists music composer Pritam Chakraborty, singers Sreeram Chandra, Nakash Aziz, Monali Thakur, Akriti Kakkar, Aditi Singh Sharma and Natalie Di Luccio for artists' engagement programme.

The company's artists' engagement programme allows entertainers to create a fan base on migme and engage with them through blog posts, interviews, photos, videos and contests.

"We believe our artist engagement program will prove a successful way of growing our user base and reach in the country," Goh said.
