Singapore's Acronis bets on cloud-based products to increase India presence

SINGAPORE: Acronis, a Singapore-based global leader in data protection today said it will raise its presence with a new cloud-based product in the Indian IT services.

Acronis Data Protection Platform is a new generation cloud platform that transforms the way data protection is delivered to end user.

"This (outsourcing of IT services) means there are many opportunities and movements for cloud adoption within India," Acronis executive vice president of Asia Pacific-Japan and Emerging Markets, Jan-Jaap Jager, said at the introduction of the Acronis Data Protection Platform here.

There is demand in India for a convenient way to share large files within a team or a group of people working on a common project.

This is because some large files cannot be sent by email and must be shared through the cloud, he pointed out, adding that Indian companies experience system failures and data losses just like anywhere in the world.
