Simplilearn raises $10 million from Helion Venture, Kalaari Capital

NEW DELHI: Online training and professional certification courses provider, Simplilearn, today said it has raised $ 10 million from venture funds Helion Venture Partners and Kalaari Capital.

The $ 10 million series B funding would allow the company to diversify and expand its course catalogue, improve customer engagement by adding local team members in the US, UK, Australia and the Middle East.

"We've been fortunate to have successfully trained thousands of professionals, and we'd like to use this funding to continue to scale and help more professionals around the globe to realise their career dreams," Simplilearn CEO Krishna Kumar said.

The company is on course to reach the Rs 100 crore revenue mark during 2013-14.

"As the demand for certified professionals continues to grow, Simplilearn's innovative platform and large inventory of courses will be an invaluable resource for working professionals and large corporations," Helion Advisors Director Rahul Chowdhri said.

Simplilearn offers online training, blended classroom training and exam practice tests 24 hours a day, seven days a week, in over 80 courses across 11 major categories.

"We are excited with the growth path that the company is embarking on with the current round of funding. We envision a global leadership position for the company in catering to individuals and corporates in a variety of certification areas," Kalaari Capital Managing Director Rajesh Raju said.
